Get to Know Us

Meet your Host, Sharon

My fiancé, Mark, and I co-founded the Chester & Push Horse Rescue, driven by our deep love for horses.

Our non-profit organization was inspired by two senior horses, Chester and Push, who lost their owner, Jeff. His final wish was to ensure they found a forever home to live out their days together. When Chester and Push arrived, they brought Jeff’s spirit with them, and we feel his presence daily.

Our mission is to develop equine therapy programs that improve the lives of individuals with PTSD, depression, autism, and other conditions. We rescue horses, and in turn, they rescue us.

We are dedicated to advocating for horses in need of rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption, providing them with shelter, food, veterinary care, and farrier services. Our efforts are supported by generous donors, volunteers, sponsors, and grants.

Currently, we are working with group such as watch resources, folks that have down syndrome and autism and brain injury, bringing them joy and happiness on a weekly basis. We are also inviting out senior centers folks that have cognitive memory lapses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s back memories of their childhood and young years when they may have owned a horse or had horse experiences.

We look forward to meeting you!
